Michael "Mike" Gorman, longtime member of the retail automotive industry in southwestern Ohio, passed away after an extended period of illness on May 17th, 2018 in a skilled nursing facility near Madison, WI.
Born in Flushing, NY to John and Thelma in 1947, Michael grew up in the Albany, NY area, where he graduated from Guilderland High School in 1965 and joined the US Air Force before starting his career. During his time in New York he also won numerous amateur car racing trophies as a member of the SCCA. After marrying and having his first son in Buffalo, NY, he moved to Ohio where his second son was born in Cincinnati.
He enjoyed the lifelong passions of automobiles (particularly the Corvette), railroads (especially the Nickel Plate Road) and history (principally WWII).
He is survived by his sons Scott (Sandra) of Madison, WI and Michael (Yvette) of Surrey, BC; siblings Susan Saba of Scarborough, ME; John (Patsy) of Yakima, WA and Matthew (Shirley) of Urbana, IL; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A private family service will be held at a later date.
