Michael Dennis Kennelly, 68, died Wednesday, April 13, 2016 in Madison after a brief illness. Michael was born June 22, 1947 in Chicago, IL, the son of Edward and Lucille (Schleden) Kennelly.

He graduated from Badger High School in Lake Geneva, WI and attended the University of Wisconsin. Michael was a bright, sensitive and thoughtful soul whose happy and promising early years gave way to the challenges of mental illness. Through the longstanding support of PACT (Program of Assertive Community Treatment) in Madison, Michael was able to maintain stability through employment, volunteer work, and a network of friends for many years. He was a loving uncle to his nephew Colin. Michael both amused and confounded us with his observations, actions and eclectic tastes, and he will be missed.

Michael is survived by his sister Patti Sinclair and husband Tom, his nephew Colin and many cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Burial will be at St. John Cemetery in Reedsburg, WI. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Donations in Mike's memory may be made to The Friends of PACT, Inc., 600 N. Williamson St. Ste. A-B, Madison, WI 53703.
