McFarland-Michael J. Morgan, age 71, passed away at his home on January 31, 2013 of natural causes.
Mike was born on October, 4, 1941, in Madison. He attended grade school at Queen of Peace and then graduated from West High school. Mike attended college for 2 years and then decided to pursue his dream as a power lifter. Mike "Bubba" Morgan was a true icon on the Madison sports scene in the 60's and 70's as one of the top power lifters in the country. Mike then took a job at Oakhill correctional institution. Michael loved his job at Oakhill and worked there for over 30 years until his retirement in June 2009.
Mike was preceded in death by his parents, James Morgan, Sally (Heil) Morgan; and step mother, Margaret Hayes.
Mike is survived by his daughter, Kimberly (Morgan) Binger (Tom); two sons, Chase Morgan and Hunter Morgan; a brother Robert Morgan (Pauline); two sisters, Mary Kay McWilliams (Gene Hume)and Susan Lokken (Gerry); two grandchildren Max and Sierra Binger; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at OUR LADY QUEEN OF PEACE CATHOLIC CHURCH, 405 S. Owen Dr., Madison, on Saturday, March 2, 2013 at 12:00 p.m. with Msgr. Kenneth J. Fiedler presiding. A visitation will be held at church on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until time of the mass. After the funeral services a luncheon will follow at the Green Lantern restaurant, in McFarland, for friends and family from 1:30 to 4:30.
Mike had many friends and family who will miss him dearly. We will always remember him in our hearts. May he rest in peace.
