Michael Anthony Neely

Michael Anthony Neely age 77 passed away after a long illness surrounded by family on February 19, 2024.

He was born July 6th, 1946 to Marie (Mack) Neely and Lawrence Neely in Roxbury , Wisconsin. Mike grew up in Roxbury attending St. Norbert’s grade school. His graduation from Sauk-Prairie High in 1965 was followed by his training and certification at Madison Business College in the field of court reporting.

After graduating he spent his entire career as a court reporter for the Dane County courts.

After his retirement he spent time with his many friends and family members including nieces and nephews.

He was also his mother’s primary support faithfully caring for her till her passing.

Mike enjoyed working in his kitchen taking a variety baking classes and was very accomplished at preparing delicious treats which he shared with family and friends.

Mike is preceded in death by his father Lawrence and mother Marie, along with two of his sisters Marion Neely Halstead (Randy) and Gail Neely (Hilton Brothwell).

Mikes survived by his dear friend and care giver Joe Acacio.

In addition he’s survived by his siblings, Patricia Neely of Tucson , Az, Carol Neely (Ron Hulslander) Geneseo IL, Mark Neely (Patti C Neely), Sauk City and Teresa Neely, Verona. His also is survived by nieces and nephews, Daniel Gerhardt ( Jesse), Gabriel Neely, Crystal Neely LaChance (Tristan LaChance) Ryan Neely (Allison), Jess Hulslander (Savannah), Allison Hulslander, Stephanie Selvick (Randy Hemsing)and Carl Selvick (Samantha). He’s also survived by his great nieces and nephews, Madeleine, Noah and Fiona Gerhardt, Thea LaChance, Oliver and Everett Selvick and Maren Hulslander.

There will be a private family burial.

Michael’s family wants to express their heart felt thanks to the wonderful staff at All Saints Assisted Living. They cared for Mike with kindness and empathy.

Additional thanks to the staff at Agrace Hospice for making Mike’s final days peaceful.
