Madison - Michael Brian Sharpe died on Wednesday, October 12, 2022. He was born on October 10, 1956, in Detroit, Michigan, the sixth of the seven children of John Willard and Lillian Ruth Sharpe. The family moved to Madison in 1962, where he attended Blessed Sacrament Elementary School and Edgewood and West High Schools. Mike was extremely bright, very well-read, and had a remarkable breadth of knowledge, which he often displayed during Jeopardy at the Crystal Corner Bar. He was also known for his storytelling, his jokes, and his talent as a soundman, having worked for many local and national bands.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his oldest brother John, as well as his nephew Dillon Mahoney. He is survived by his son, Jonathon Schindler, his brothers, Jim, Paul, and Tim, his sisters, Christine (Tina) and Jacquie; and many nieces and nephews.
He will be interred at the Natural Path Sanctuary, 2299 Spring Rose Rd, Verona, WI 53593 on Monday, October 24, 2022, at 1:30 pm. Family and friends will share memories at the retreat center at Natural Path Sanctuary immediately following the burial. At a future date, there will be another memorial celebration for his many friends at the Crystal Corner Bar in Madison.
Be at peace, brother Mike. Mom, Dad, brother John, nephew Dillon, and Bryan are waiting to welcome you and catch up. I would steer clear of Sister Alphonsine and Grandma Hove, however. We would like to thank Lutheran Social Services for helping Mike in his times of need. Contributions in his name can be made to The Farley Center for Peace, Justice, and Sustainability at farleycenter.org/donate-to-the-farley-center/
