Washington DC / Cambridge -Michael Rex Sipe, 59, of Columbia, MD, passed unexpectedly August 15, 2011 in Washington DC. Mike is remembered as a loving son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend. He was born in Perry, Iowa, graduated from Perry High School in Perry, Iowa, received an Associate's Degree from DMACC and took various other college courses.
Mike married Mary (Haugen) on March 3, 1972, and they had 39 wonderful years together. They moved to Wisconsin in 1980 where he pursued agriculture and became an R&D specialist, then spent time in California, and was now employed by Siemens Building Technology, Beltsville, MD as a Fire Protection Technician.
Mike is survived by his loving wife Mary (Haugen), Columbia, MD, daughter Sanic (Kyle) Timmer, Oconomowoc, WI, granddaughters Mayara, Darien and Samantha Timmer, Oconomowoc, WI, sisters Donna (Ron) DeWitt, Columbia, MD, Billie Jean (Richard) Calonkey, Woodward, Iowa, sister-in-law Donna (Walt) Moyer, Seaford, DE, and many loved nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his brother Thomas, parents Rosella and Earnie Sipe, grandson Jacob Timmer, sister Karen Royer and brother-in-law Arnie Royer.
There will be a visitation on September 3, 2011 at East Koshkonong Lutheran Church, 454 E. Church Rd., Cambridge, WI at 10:00am, Service at 11:00am and Internment following in the church cemetery.
