Michaeline M. Fardy

July 30, 1947 — July 19, 2024

Oregon, WI

Michaeline (Micki) Fardy passed away on Friday, July 19th, 2024, at the age of 76 with her son, Andy, and his wife, Sarah by her side. Micki was born on July 30th, 1947. She was the 13th and final child of Bill and Beryl McGettigan. She grew up in Mineral Point before moving to Madison and graduating from West High School. She married William (Bill) Fardy in 1968 and they enjoyed 50 years of marriage before his death in 2018.

Micki loved getting together with her friends, neighbors, and the many McGettigan family members. Micki was an avid Wisconsin sports fan, always cheering on her beloved Badgers and Packers. She was incredibly proud of her Irish heritage and looked forward to St. Patrick’s Day every year.

Micki will be dearly missed by her son, Andy Fardy, and his wife, Sarah, her brothers Dennis (Denise) McGettigan, and Patrick (Michel) McGettigan, in-laws Ruth McGettigan, Lee Greenwood, and Susan McGettigan and her many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and neighbors on Terry Place.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Fardy, her parents, Bill and Beryl McGettigan, siblings and in-laws, Marion and Tony Nardi, Buddy McGettigan, Audrey and Bill Kuter, Jerry and Bob Kaiser, Fran and Pat McGettigan, Raymond and Joanne McGettigan, Patty and Bud Harris, Brian McGettigan, Karen Greenwood, and Mark McGettigan.

Micki called Beehive Memory Care Facility in Oregon home for the past two years. She cherished the friendships she made, especially becoming very close with her dear friend Dar. We are deeply grateful for the exceptional attention and care Micki received during her time there. Our heartfelt thanks go out to all the staff at Beehive, particularly Kelly, Maiya, and Martisha. Lastly, the family would like to thank Agrace Hospice Care, especially Kristin.

We would like to invite family and friends to join us for a celebration of life at Mulligan’s Irish Pub and Grille in Oregon, Wisconsin on Saturday, July 27th between 1pm-5pm for a luncheon and to exchange memories. We encourage you to wear Wisconsin sports apparel or green. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Agrace.
