Mike Klinkner

McFarland- Mike Klinkner, age 62, passed away on Thursday, March 28, 2024 after a courageous battle with prostate cancer. He was born in Madison on July 4, 1961, the son of Dale and Penny Klinkner.

Mike graduated from LaFollette High School in 1979, where he met the love of his life, Nancy Gray. On September 27, 1980 they were united in marriage on a beautiful sunny day. Together they enjoyed traveling, especially to Hawaii and Mexico. 

Mike worked as a Maintenance Custodian for UW Madison Campus housing and at Toby's Supper Club for over 40 years until his retirement in 2021. Mike was always busy, painting the inside and outside of his home, and traveling to Marquette, MI to visit family. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed his yearly fishing trip to Canada with good friends. He was an experienced hunter, proficient in bow and gun, and enjoyed deer hunting with his family and friends. 

Mike loved watching and attending Wisconsin sporting events for the Packers, Badgers, and Brewers. He was a dedicated family man, devoted to his children attending their sporting events and karate tournaments. 

Mike is survived by his wife of 44 years, Nancy; son, Phil; daughter, April (Jamey) Gehin; grandson, Jackson Gehin; brothers, John Klinkner, Joey Klinkner, and Jimmy Aiken; sister, Angela (Mark) Engbring; aunts and uncle; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Dale Klinkner and Penny Lemon; and nephews, Christopher Bennett and Alex Aiken.

Private services will be held. Burial will take place in Highland Memory Gardens.

A special thank you to everyone who cared for Mike allowing him to stay in his home as long as possible, and to the entire staff at Agrace for their compassion and care of Mike.

Nancy, Phil, April, Jamey and Jackson will forever miss you Mike!
