Madison - Mildred G. "Midge" Griffin, age 97 was taken home to be with the Lord on Monday, July 15, 2013. She was born on July 8, 1916 in Madison, the daughter of Adolph and Zepha (Howe) Domini. Midge was a lifetime Madison resident. She was united in marriage to Edwin Pauli on May 29, 1934. Together they raised three beautiful children and were foster parents for many years. Midge was a faithful and devoted member of St. Maria Goretti Catholic Church. For over 20 years, she worked for JC Penny department store until her retirement, in sales and making draperies. She was a member of the Elks Club, the Auxiliary with Elks Women and the Moose Lodge.
In her spare time she enjoyed bowling, jig saw puzzles, dancing, playing cards and volunteer work. Most of all, family was her life and meant everything to her. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Midge is survived by her two children, Gerald (Jean) Pauli of DeForest and Cindy (Dennis) Pauli Semenic of Sun Prairie; 10 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; one great great grandson; a sister, Jackie Manteufel and a sister-in-law, Jean Kennedy. She is also survived by many other loving family and friends.
Midge was preceded in death by her parents, her husbands, Edwin Pauli, Connie Bambrough and Edward Griffin; daughter, Pamela Anderson; great grandson, Tyler Pauli and six siblings.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at ST. MARIA GORETTI CATHOLIC CHURCH, 5313 Flad Avenue, Madison on Tuesday, July 23, 2013 at 11:00 am with Msgr. Michael L. Burke presiding. A visitation will be held at the church on Tuesday from 9:30 am until the time of Mass. Graveside services will be held at Resurrection Catholic Cemetery.
