Mildred ""Millie"" Smith, age 74, passed away on Mon. Sept 14, 2009. Millie was born in Freistadt ( Mequon) to Gerhard and Edna (Stern) Wetzel on Sept. 7, 1935. She was confirmed at Trinity Lutheran in Freistadt and active there for several years. Millie later moved and joined St. Paul's Lutheran in Grafton where she worked for Tecumsech Products. Millie then moved to Mount Horeb where she joined Immanuel Lutheran and worked for the Wisconsin State Department of Revenue as a word processor. Millie then moved to Madison where she joined Mt. Olive Lutheran. Her faith and family were most important to her. Millie volunteered at Meriter Hospital Coffee Shop and at her church and selling cookies at Badger games with her good friend Victor Mayer. Millie is survived by her children, Elroy (Kathy) Graese Jr., Susan (Glenn) Auer, Connie (Gary) Flannigan and Todd Graese; grandchildren, Sonny, Vicki, Jimmy, Shelley, Erin, Melissa, Nicki, Stephanie, Anthony, Nadia and Nicolas; and seven great-grandchildren and many other relatives and friends. There will be a Memorial Gathering starting at 1:00 p. m. on Fri. Sept. 18, 2009 with a Memorial Service at 2:00 p. m. held at Mt. Olive Lutheran Church at their new location, 110 N. Whitney Way with Rev. Jason Zobel presiding. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Mt. Olive Lutheran Church.
