Milton Austin

Sun Prairie - Milton G. Austin, age 88, passed away after a long struggle with Alzheimer's on Tuesday, September 5, 2017, at Hyland Crossing in Sun Prairie. He was born on May 6, 1929, in Madison, WI, the son of Carl and Agnes (Johnson) Austin.

He is survived by his children, Jeffrey (Debra), Steve (Cindy), Patricia and Susan. He is especially proud of his grandchildren and great-grandchildren: Melissa, Dane and Avery Hanson, Megan, Adam, Mila and Cain Bjork; Jenna, Kyle, Stella and Eli Rauls; Nicholas, Kristine, Hunter and Madelyn Pierick; Stephanie, Robert, Austin, Brody, Taylor, Addison and MacKenzie Priboth; Sarah, Jay, Kaden and Jaxson Kolodziej; and Krystle, Jeff, Maverick and Madelyn Topp. Milton was preceded in death by his wife Elizabeth Ann (Gehler) Austin on Nov. 11, 1994, and great-grandson Brody Robert Priboth on February 10, 2012,

He married Ilene (Gilbert) List on July 19, 1997. Her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren are Gary, Patricia, Kimberly and Matthew List; Rita and Dan Endres; Monica, Dan and Daniel Haack, Kristi, Chris, Isabelle, Charlotte, Henry and Emmeline Maki. He was preceded in death by Gary E. List on April 25, 2010.

A funeral service will be held at BRISTOL LUTHERAN CHURCH, 6835 County Hwy N, Sun Prairie on Tuesday, September 12, 2017, at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Jen Johnson officiating. Burial will follow at Sun Prairie Memory Gardens in Sun Prairie. A visitation will be held at CRESS FUNERAL HOME, 1310 Emerald Terrace, Sun Prairie, on Monday, September 11, 2017, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and at the church on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.

The family would like to send special gratitude to all the staff at Hyland Crossings for their compassionate and loving care they provided to "their Milton" during his stay. We are also grateful to the staff at Stoughton Hospital and Agrace HospiceCare Red and CAT teams for their excellent care and compassion with our father.
