Madison -- Milton H. Lenz age 91 passed away on Sunday, November 22, 2009 at his home with his family by his side. Â He was born in rural Kaleva , MI on March 11, 19 18 the son Eliza (Wallace) and Emil Lenz. Â He grew up on a farm near Gotham , WI . In the 1930's Milt was in the Civilian Conservation Corps ( CCC ) and was a cheesemaker from 1937 to 1945 in Bear Creek , WI . On February 14, 19 42 Milt was united in marriage to Pauline Knudson. In 1945 they moved to Madison and he was employed by the Frank Fruit Company until 1959 when he became Building Engineer for Bethel Lutheran Church , continuing until his retirement in 1987. Â During those years he proudly worked part-time at second jobs...for Frank Fruit Company and then for 26 years at Randall Associated Bank. In 1992 Milt and Pauline celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary by renewing their vows and entertaining many friends at Bethel Lutheran Church . He has been a member of Bethel since 1948 and for many years was active in the Young Married Couples Club, Christian Men's Fellowship, and a volunteer for Bethel Horizons where he worked on many projects for the Nature Center and took part in the Bike-Walk-a-Thon. Â Milt's talents were varied, including...being able to fix almost anything electrical, plumbing, cleaning, ect. Â He enjoyed tending to his yard and flower beds. Â Milt was also an avid reader, liked to entertain friends and loved a good game of euchre. He and his wife, Pauline enjoyed traveling throughout the United States as well as their two trips abroad. Â Most of all, Milt's greatest joy was found with his wife, daughter, grandchildren, great grandsons, extended family and many friends. Â Milt is survived by his loving wife of 67 years; Pauline, their daughter; Sandra (Charles) Stark all of Madison, two grandchildren; Erik (Karla) Hendrickson of Madison and Shana (Michael) Leith of Janesville, two great grandsons; Lukas Hendrickson and Jacob Leith, a nephew; David Lincoln, two grand nieces and two foster girls; Alice North of Seattle, WA and Charlene (James) Labiszak of Cleveland, OH and their three children, Jimmy, Leslie and Todd. Â He is also survived by many other people that Milt and Pauline consider a part of their extended family. Â He was preceded in death by his parents, his only sister, Dorothy (Lenz) Lincoln and his in-laws; Henry and Stella Knudson. Â Â Funeral services will be held at BETHEL LUTHERAN CHURCH , 312 Wisconsin Ave. , on Wednesday, November 25, 2009 at 11:30 a.m. with Reverend Duane Hanson officiating. Â A visitation will be held at the church on Wednesday from 10 am until the time of services. Â Graveside Services will follow on Wednesday at Spring Green Cemetery , Spring Green, WI at 2:30 pm . Â Memorials may be made in memory of Milt to Bethel Lutheran Church Endowment Fund or the Bethel Horizons Campership Fund at 312 Wisconsin Ave. , Madison , WI 53703 or to HospiceCare, 5395 E.
