Madison - Minnie A. (Lovick) DiSalvo,
age 94, passed away peacefully on Saturday January 14, 2012.
She was born on September 15, 1917 in Township of Vienna, WI, the second of seven children
of Hans and Christina (Sime) Lovick.
She graduated from DeForest High School in 1936.
Minnie was united in marriage to Thomas J. DiSalvo on February 18, 1943.
Minnie graduated from Milwaukee Beauty College in 1939 and was employed by Burdick and Murray Hair Salon. She was also employed by J.C. Penney and Famous Footwear until her retirement in 1986.
She enjoyed craft making, embroidery and knitting and was known for her sewing expertise but her most favorite pastime was dancing to Big Band music with her husband Tom.
Minnie was a lifelong member of Luther Memorial Church.
Minnie was very proud of her Norwegian heritage and cherished a 1994 trip to her parent's birthplaces in Norway. She also enjoyed traveling around the United States visiting friends and family.
Minnie is survived by her son Tom (Lesley) DiSalvo, and daughter Monsine DiSalvo, Madison.
Beloved grandson John Sheehan of Madison and step grandchildren Paul and Sarah and six step great-grandchildren in England.
She is further survived by her sister, Dorothy (Ed) Hamre and brother Ken Lovick, sister-in-law Catherine DiSalvo and brother-in-law Ralph DiSalvo, special friend and bridesmaid Sophie Karabis and her many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 44 years, sisters Thelma (Jack) Harrington, Helen (Earle) Heisig and Agnes (William) Meddings and brother Harold (Marion) Lovick.
