Mitchell Nelson

Waukesha / Stoughton - Mitchell B. Nelson, age 59, passed away after a long battle from cancer on April 25, 2017. He was born on August 16, 1957 in Madison, Wisconsin, the son of Peter and Dorothy (Rice) Nelson.

Mitchell graduated from Stoughton High School in 1976. Following graduation he enlisted in the Navy Reserves and served his country for 7 years. After the Navy he went on to earn his Associate degree in Tool and Die at Milwaukee North Technical College. Mitchell made his home and worked in Waukesha for the past thirty years. He loved hunting with his brother Marc in Iowa County.

He is survived by his mother Dorothy; brother, Marc (Sherry) Nelson; sister, Myra (Chris) Jensen; nieces and nephews, Shyloh (Matthew) Hennagir, Zeke Nelson, special Goddaughter Anna Jensen, and William Jensen. He is also survived by other relatives and friends.

Mitchell was preceded in death by his father Peter J. Nelson.

Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, May 2, 2017 at Christ Lutheran Church, 700 County Rd. B., Stoughton. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of services on Tuesday. Family and friends are invited to a meal following the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in Mitchell's name may be made out to the American Cancer Society.
