Stoughton/Pine Bluff- Mona Lynette Scott (nee Osmundsen), age 88, was reunited in heaven with her husband Bud on Friday, January 12, 2024 at Agrace HospiceCare in Fitchburg. She was born in Madison on May 22, 1935, the daughter of Edwin and Virginia Osmundsen.
Mona grew up in Fitchburg and graduated from Madison West High School in 1953. She received her LPN degree from Madison Area Technical College. On October 2, 1954 Mona married Orville “Bud” Scott. Together they lived in Pine Bluff for many years, they enjoyed camping, hiking, and spending time with their grandchildren. In 2003 they moved to Stoughton to be closer to family. Mona worked at Madison General for 38 years until her retirement in 1998. She was a dedicated member of Luther Memorial Church in Madison. Mona was a proud volunteer for the American Diabetes Association. She enjoyed quilting and knitting in her free time.
Mona is survived by her daughter, Cindy (Merlin) Kotajarvi; eight grandchildren and their children: Kara; Jessica and Angela; Blake; Elizabeth (Chris) and Keeley and Cienna; Alexis (Eric) and Zoey and Lola; Emily (Ray) and Natalie and Alex; Jennifer (Adam) and Rebekah and Zach; and Aurora (Kevin) and Nathaniel, Emma, and Lorraine; three sisters, Karen (Dale) Ihm, Sharon (Marlin) Lehmann, and Gail (Robert) Lehmann; many nieces and nephews; relatives; and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughters, Susan and Linda; sons, Michael and Patrick; sisters, Elizabeth and Roberta; and brother, Monty.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, January 20, 2024 at Luther Memorial Church, 1021 University Avenue, Madison, with Pastor Rebecca Ninke officiating. Private burial will take place in Middleton Junction at a later date. Fellowship will follow the services at church. Visitation will be held from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM on Friday, January 19, 2024 at Cress Funeral Home, 206 W. Prospect Street, Stoughton, and from 10:00 AM until the time of services Saturday at church.
Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association or Agrace HospiceCare Inc.
Mona will be missed for her sassy, ranch-chugging, strong and spicy ways, and her infectious laughter.
