Muriel Mae Sater

Muriel Mae Sater was born on May 7, 1928, to John Oscar Olson and Cora (Replogle) Olson on a farm in Cushing, Wisconsin.  She married George Melvin Sater of Frederic, Wisconsin at the Atlas Community Methodist Church in Atlas, WI on July 27th, 1946.  The couple made their first home in Wisconsin then eventually moved to Minneapolis, MN. 

Muriel was exceptionally talented.  She was a professional seamstress-tailor, upholsterer, wedding dress and cake designer, gardener, accomplished artist, singer, and musician, playing the accordion by ear.  She played horseshoes and pool, parachuted out of an airplane in her 60’s, swam and slalom water skied.  She was an excellent cook, baker, childcare provider, and could dance the shoes right off Fred Astaire.  Most of the time we saw Muriel as the “Energizer Bunny”! 

Muriel passed away October 7, 2023, at The Legacy of Noel Manor in Verona, WI at the age of 95.  She is survived by her children: Katherine (Joseph) Partch of Cottonwood, AZ; Gary (Lois) Sater of Middleton, WI; Terry (Denise) Sater of Oconomowoc, WI; Suzanne Sater of Fridley, MN; grandchildren: Ryan Sater; Karina (Andrew) Atwell; Micha Sater; Jesse (Kelly) Sater; Jamy Stanczyk; Savannah Sater; Autumn Sater; Sierra (Mohammad) Alsurkhi; great grandchildren: Farin Sater; Finley Atwell; and Dakota Atwell.  Muriel was preceded in death by her parents, John and Cora Olson; husband, George M. Sater in January of 1988; son, Steven Sater; daughter-in-law Lynne Sater; sister Lois (Olson) Cruthers; brother-in-law, Max Cruthers; brother-in-law, Donald Cramer; sister-in-law Jeannie Cramer; and nephew, Robert Cramer.

There will be a memorial Celebration of Life for Muriel at the Cress Center in Middleton (6021 University Ave.) on November 5^th from 1-4 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a charity of your choice or Agrace Hospice, for whom we have immeasurable gratitude. Light refreshments will be served.

A heartfelt thank you to all the medical and support staff at The Legacy of Noel Manor and Agrace Hospice.  You were all angels along Muriel’s path to her final resting place.
