Muriel 'Mim' Wersland, age 73, passed away at her home in Stoughton, surrounded by her family, on Thursday, April 23, 2009. Â She was born in the Town of Christiana on January 14, 1936, a daughter of Neville and Anna (Dahl) Fosdal. Â She grew up in Utica and graduated from Stoughton High School. Â She married Iver Wersland on July 7, 1956. Â Muriel lived her life for others and her door and heart were always open. Â She enjoyed gathering with friends and family, and especially loved spending time with her grandchildren. Â She found joy in the simple things in life, and could have a good time no matter where she was. Â She loved music, dancing, hockey, cross country skiing and working as a waitress. Â Ever the optimist, she saw the good in people, gave her unconditional love, and never complained. Â She is survived by her husband, Iver; children, Bret, Jill (John) Bilhorn, Erica (John) Sundby, and Timm; grandchildren, Bryce Sime, Jared Bilhorn, Cierra & Tyler Wersland, Paul & Jack Sundby, Brigitte Wersland and Nate Severin. Â She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Beatrice and Ethel; brother, Roger; and an infant son, Steven. Â She will be greatly missed, but leaves us with wonderful memories and lessons learned by her example. Â A celebration of her life will be held on Sunday, May 3, 2009 at the VFW Post #328, 200 Veterans Rd., Stoughton. Â There will be a service at 1:00 pm, followed by a casual gathering with food, friendship, and the music she loved. Â In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to HospiceCare, Inc., or to the Stoughton Norwegian Dancers.
