Murry J. House, Jr., age 93, passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 21, 2018, at Hyland Crossing, surrounded by his family. He was born on November 29, 1924, in Gary, Indiana, son of Murry, Sr. and Mildred (Guyton) House. He was united in marriage to Julia Brown on November 8, 1951, in Brooklyn, New York. Together they raised three children.

Murry served 25 years in the Air Force and retired as a Senior Master Sergeant and worked 16 years at First Wisconsin Bank. Murry will be remembered by his family and friends as being a fun-loving person who enjoyed sharing his humor and compassion with people. He was a joy to be around because of his joke telling and occasional singing of songs. He adored his grandchildren and enjoyed watching them play sports and other school activities. He always had a compassionate heart and was a great comfort.

Murry was a 32nd Degree Mason with Sun Prairie Masonic Lodge No. 143 F. & A.M., a member of the Madison Scottish Rite Bodies, the Madison Zor Shrine, Sun Prairie American Legion Post No. 333, Veterans of Foreign War Post No 9362 and Sun Prairie United Methodist Church.

He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Julia; his daughter Marlise (Danny) McFarland and son Reche' (Bonnie) House; his grandchildren Shanna (J.R.) Flynn, Shannon McFarland, Monica (Tom) Scott, Derek (Sara) and Donovan House and Alyssa (Steve) Leschisin; his three great- grandchildren; his sister Audrey Chatters and he also leaves behind many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his son Gerald, two brothers and one sister.

Funeral services will be held at Sun Prairie United Methodist Church, 702 North Street, Sun Prairie on Saturday, April 28, 2018 at 11:00 am with Rev. Jenny Arneson officiating. Visitation will be held at Cress Funeral Home, 1310 Emerald Terrace, Sun Prairie on Friday, April 27, 2018 from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm and from 10:00 am until the time of service at the church. Entombment will be held at Sun Prairie Memory Gardens with full military honors following the service at church.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Shriners Hospitals for Children.

Murry was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great- grandfather who will be dearly missed by all who knew him and loved him.
