Myrty Lou Brazee

Myrty Lou Brazee passed away on March 11, 2024. Myrty was born in Dodgeville, WI on July 22, 1936, the daughter of Virgil and Mauriel (Erickson) Hill. She lived in Iowa County and graduated from Mineral Point High School in 1954. She was a graduate of the Wisconsin School of Cosmetology in June of 1955. 

Myrty married her husband Eugene (Gene) Brazee on September 16, 1957, and they lived in South Madison near Monona Bay for all their years. She owned her own beauty shop for many years and retired from St. Mary’s Care Center where she worked in the beauty shop. Myrty was a member of Bethel Lutheran Church and was a member of the Ladies’ Auxiliary of VFW post 1318 where she was a past President. She enjoyed playing many different games of cards and travelling with Gene to horse and dog tracks. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.  

Myrty is survived by her husband Gene; daughter Lucinda (John) Bannon; son Daniel (Julie) Brazee; seven grandchildren; and 4 great children. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother John; sister Dorothy Ann; and her daughter Sheri Lynn and her husband Henry Yates. As per Myrt’s request a private graveside service will be held.
