N. Oberlander

Sun Prairie-N. Jean Oberlander, age 81, passed away on Friday, January 20, 2012 at Agrace HospiceCare Center, Fitchburg. She was born on February 7, 1930 in St. Claire, MN the daughter of Floyd & Frieda (Schram) Klinder. Jean was united in marriage with Don A. Oberlander on July 14, 1951 and he preceded her in death on January 17, 2010. She was a longtime resident of Janesville and most recently Sun Prairie. In her spare time she enjoyed socializing, playing cards, knitting, dancing and bowling. She also enjoyed cooking and baking which brought her family and friends together. Jean was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary V.F.W. Post # 1621, Janesville and the M.A.T.C. Faculty Wives. She was a former longtime active member of Trinity Episcopal Church, Janesville and most recently a member of Good Shepherd Episcopal Church, Sun Prairie. She will be missed by her beloved family which include her children, Todd (Lori) Oberlander, Port Hadlock, WA and Aloy (Peter) Pien, Madison; her grandchildren, Ashley (William IV) McGrail, Kitchener, Ontario and Alex Pien, Madison; her devoted sister, Clarice Wesley, St. Cloud, MN; nieces, nephews and other relatives. A Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, January 24, 2012 at 12:00 p.m. (noon) at Good Shepherd Episcopal Church, 3416 Swansee Ridge, Sun Prairie with Father Michael Tess presiding. A visitation will precede funeral at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Committal service will be held on Tuesday at 2:45 p.m. at Roselawn Memorial Park Chapel, Monona.
