Nan Elifritz

October 8, 1930 — October 12, 2009

Nan Elifritz,   age 79, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, October 12, 2009.   She was born on October 8, 1930 the daughter of John and Mildred ( Livermore) Gundlach, in Madison.   Nan lived in Plainfield and Neenah until she moved back to Madison to attend the University of Wisconsin.   She lived most of her adult life in the Madison area until she retired in St. Petersburg, FL.   Recently, she lived in Marshall with her son Tom.   Nan is survived by 4 children, Dana (Rick) Parpart, Karen ( Gary) Schwebs,   Jim   ( Sandy) Elifritz, and Tom Elifritz.   She is also survived by 10 grandchildren, Amy Schwebs, Erich (Kiera) Parpart,   Don (Katie) Schwebs, Sarah Parpart (Brad Trudell), Jaret Elifritz, Carly Elifritz, Melady Elifritz, Trevor Elifritz, Shylo (Ryan) Schroud and Bimini Holguin.   She is further survived by 12 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.   Nan was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, John Gundlach, and her daughter Sue Ann Holguin.   A Memorial Service will be held at 6:30 pm on Friday, October 16, 2009 at CRESS FUNERAL HOME,   3325 E. Washington Ave., Madison, WI   53704, with Visitation from 4:30 pm until the time of service.   A private family burial will take place.     We'll miss you Grandma Nan!      In life we loved you dearly;   in death we do the same.   It broke our hearts to lose you, but you did not go alone.   Part of us went with you, the day God called you home.   You left us peaceful memories, your love is still our guide; and though we cannot see you, you are always at our side.   Our family chain is broken, and nothing seems the same; but as God calls us one by one, the chain will link again.
