Stoughton- Nancy T. Arneson, age 59, passed away on Saturday, June 23, 2012 at St. Mary's Hospital in Madison. She was born in Stoughton on January 21, 1953, a daughter of Helmer and Elizabeth (Christopher) Arneson. She graduated from Stoughton High School in 1971. Nancy worked at Skaalen Home in Stoughton for over 30 years. During much of this time she also worked as a bartender at Barber's. She was a hard worker who loved to work, and missed work when she was no longer able to do it. She liked to cook and bake, and her lasagna and chocolate cake will be missed. Nancy also enjoyed flowers, embroidery, her cats and dogs, the Packers and visiting the casino. To her nieces, nephew, great nieces and great nephews, she was 'Auntie', and she loved spending time with them.
Together with her significant other and soul-mate, Dennis Williams, Nancy enjoyed time in Soldier's Grove fishing, gardening, and feeding birds and squirrels. Nancy was well loved. Despite her many years of medical problems, she never complained, and always found a way to make the best out of everything.
She is survived by her soul-mate, Dennis Williams; her mother, Elizabeth Arneson; 2 sisters, Karen Beaster and Susan Arneson; nephew, Rick (Kim) Klingaman; nieces, Cindy Scholl, Nancy (Glenn) Elmer, and Sara (Russ) Casper; many great nieces and nephews; aunt, Sally Schiro, uncle, Perry Christopher; and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her father, Helmer Arneson.
Funeral services will be held at noon on Wednesday, June 27, 2012 at the Cress Funeral Home in Stoughton, with the Rev. Scott Geister-Jones officiating. Burial will follow at Lutheran Cemetery South in Stoughton. The family will greet friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 10:00 am until the time of service.
Special thanks to the doctors, nurses, and the staff of the dialysis unit at St. Mary's Hospital. -Rest in peace dear Nancy. We miss you, love you, and will always be thinking of you.-
