Nancy Becker

Nancy lived her entire life in Waunakee. She was born to Sam and Grace Blake on July 16, 1933, delivered at home on Second Street by her physician grandfather, Dr. Austin M. Blake.
She graduated from Waunakee High School in 1951. She attended UW-Madison and went on to work at Farmers Mutual Insurance.
Nancy married Ray Becker on April 27, 1957. They began a family raising Cindy, Lindley, and Craig (Tim Becker-Solic) with devotion and unselfish love. They had two grandchildren, Jonathan (Dannah) Sauer and Rachel Sauer. They included their third son, Tim, Sandy Connors, and David Jacobi in that wonderful circle of love.
While raising the family she also cared for her mother. She genuinely loved being a wife, mother, and homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her parents, infant brother, beloved aunts and cousins, and her husband of 59 years.
Her Heaven on Earth was the cottage on Lake Mendota built in the early 1900s by her grandfather and his fishing buddies that remains a part of the family's heritage.
Nancy was a lifelong member of First Presbyterian Church. She quietly served playing piano, teaching Sunday school, and baking cookies for homeless shelters. She enjoyed fellowship with friends at Horizons and Lunchables groups, assembling church bulletins, and newsletters.
She delivered Meals on Wheels for decades, always allowing a little extra time to chat.
Mom loved us all even as the grief of losing Dad on January 12 literally broke her heart. We have been truly blessed with the legacy of love passed on to us from two marvelous people who will be missed every day of our lives.
Visitation will be from 4:30-7:30 PM on Wednesday, March 30, 2016 at the Winn-Cress Funeral Home, 5785 Hwy Q, Waunakee, WI 53597. A private burial will take place at Town of Vienna Cemetery at a later date.
