Nancy Salditt

Salditt, Nancy E. (nee Love) age 84 entered eternal life on July 25, 2014 at Agrace Hospice in Madison, WI. Preceded in death by her parents Dr. Irving B. Love and Ellen M. Love, and brother Donald P. Love, her loving husband of 50 years, Frederick F. Salditt, and newborn son, James Richard. She is survived by brother James E. Love, her son John (Diana), son Phillip (Christine), daughter Monica (Rev. Daniel) Yeazel, four grandchildren, Katie Wall, Annie Murchy, Sarah and Adam Yeazel, other relatives and many friends, old and new.

Nancy was born October 15, 1929 in Milwaukee WI. She was a graduate of Holy Rosary School (1944) Holy Angels Academy (1948) and Wisconsin State College (1952) where she was an active member of Kappa Lambda Iota Sorority. She taught first grade before she married, and then was an active volunteer and caregiver for much of her life. At St. Joseph's Hospital in Milwaukee, she served on the Auxiliary Board and volunteered weekly for over 25 years. She also volunteered as a teacher aide at St. Jude the Apostle School in Wauwatosa for over 35 years, over 25 years of which were with Miss Judith LaFond in her first grade classroom. The students called her "Grammie Nancy". She taught a generation of children to read, thus opening a world of knowledge to each.

When she lived at San Camillo Retirement Community in Milwaukee she volunteered as a member of various committees there and at St. Camillus. As a life long resident of Milwaukee and Port Washington, she moved to Coventry Village in Madison in 2011 to be closer to family. She was an avid audience member at nearly every concert, musical, or student politics presentation at Middleton High School, even writing letters to the School Board, principal, and teachers in support of their work with the students.

She will be greatly missed in this life, but live on in the hearts and minds of all who loved her. A celebration of her life will be held on Saturday August 2, 2014 at Cress Funeral Home 6021 University Ave, Madison WI. Visitation from 10:00 until 11:00 with service at 11:00, with Rev. Dan Yeazel presiding. Private internment at Holy Cross Cemetery in Milwaukee.
