Nancy Ann Warner 67, of Madison, died peacefully on July 31, 2024. She was surrounded by family at her bedside.

She was born December 17, 1956, in Madison and was the daughter of James M. and Patricia M. Warner (McGuine). She attended Our Lady Queen of Peace grade school in Madison and graduated with honors from Edgewood High School in Madison in 1975.

She graduated from Madison Business College on the dean's list in 1978. She spent 38 years working for the State of Wisconsin in a variety of different capacities. One of her favorites was working for the Dept. of Veterans Affairs. Her grandfather had items in the museum there. She once wrote, "I will always be proud of the commitment the Wisconsin DVA has made in serving our veterans."

She retired several years ago and was enjoying that fact.

Nancy was a pet lover, especially parakeets. She was a frequent pet-sitter for family and friends. She was known for throwing Packer parties and in her basement bar. Her taco dip and cheese puffs disappeared quickly. She hosted the family Thanksgiving many times, duplicating the recipes her mom used. Nancy was an avid reader, used social media, and liked court shows on TV.

Nancy was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by brothers Gregory Warner of Mazomanie, and Craig Warner of Madison and a sister Marcia Seeker (Kent) of Madison, an aunt Peggy Schwarz of Cross Plains, a nephew Wesley Warner of Madison, a niece Whitney Wege(Adam) of South Milwaukee, Cousins Patrick Schwarz(Bill) Highland Park, IL, Vicky Heinz of Spring Green, Gail Geib of Madison, Dan Geib (Melisssa) Sun Prairie, and many other cousins and friends.

And special friends Mark Nitka, years of helping Nancy with rides and errands, and Lorene Armstrong, for years was Nancy's friend, confidant, and angel the past few weeks.

Our family would like to thank the entire staff at UW Hospital, especially Amber & Shelby in the TLC unit. True heroes.

A memorial service will be held for Nancy at Cress Funeral & Cremation, 3610 Speedway Road, Madison WI on Friday, August 30, 2024 at 10 am. A luncheon will be held immediately following the memorial service.
