Naomi Rane

Madison - Naomi Rane, age 93, passed away on Wednesday, October 21, 2015. Naomi was born on November 7, 1921 to Robert and Ethyl Boyd in White Lake, WI. She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank J. Rane. She and her husband owned and operated Rane's Liquors on South Park St. for 43 years. She was a member of the Madison Elks Lodge, where her husband served two terms as Exalted Ruler. She was also a member of the Madison Italian-American Women's Club. Her husband served five years as president of the Madison Italian Workmen's Club. She is survived by her sons, Frank of Madison and Phillip (Nancy) of Cross Plains; grandchildren, Susan Rane of Vero Beach, FL, Stephanie (Richard) Chamberlain of Denver, CO, Steven (Thaissa) Rane of Boulder, CO, Christina Derene of Madison, Andrea Rane of Madison, and Thomas Rane of Madison. She is survived by sisters, Susan (Sam) Cangemi and Linda (Peter) Bowler of Waukegan, IL, Barbara (Larry) Meeks of White Lake, WI. She is also survived by seven great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband, Naomi was preceded in death by her siblings, Inia, Ali and Jim. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, October 27, 2015 at GOOD SHEPHERD PARISH AT ST. JOSEPH'S CATHOLIC CHURCH, 1905 W. Beltline Highway, Madison with Msgr. Thomas F. Baxter presiding. Visitation will begin one hour preceding the Mass. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church. Her cremains will be interred at Sunset Memory Gardens in Madison next to those of her beloved husband.
