Nathan E. "Nate" Stoll, age 81 of Waunakee passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Sunday, December 17, 2023, at St. Mary's Hospital, Madison. He was born on December 8, 1942, in Monroe, WI, the son of Mary (Miller) and Charles Stoll. He graduated from South Wayne High School in 1961 and married the former Sandra Elaine Jorgenson on February 3, 1963. Together they raised four children while living in the Mineral Point area until moving to Waunakee in 1972. Sandra preceded him in death on September 7, 1981.
In May of 1985, Nate married the former Irene (Roudebush) Julson. Irene preceded him in death on March 31, 2021.
Nate grew up farming and working as a cheesemaker. He farmed for many years and enjoyed playing home talent baseball and softball, hunting and fishing, spending time in the Northwoods, and camping, and boating on Lake Wisconsin. He owned and operated Banner Pest Control for many years until his retirement.
Survivors include his children, Pamela Stoll, Peggy (Rick) Curkeet, Cindy (Fred) Gregory, and Shannon (Don) Julson; daughter-in-law, Heather Julson; grandchildren, Lindsay (Kaleb) Van Meter, Kylie Stoll, Brandon (Maryann) Stoll, Sandy (Nick) Frinzi, Meredith (Chris) Ingersoll and Madeline (Christian) Noltner; four great-grandchildren and a fifth on the way; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Donna (Roger) Stoll, Audrey (Mike) DeWitt, Glenn (Carla) Roudebush, David Roudebush, Steven (Joanne) Roudebush, and Rolyn (Judy) Jorgenson; many nieces and nephews; and his good friend, Julian Martinson.
Nate was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Mary Stoll; his first wife, Sandra Stoll; his second wife, Irene Stoll; his sons, Theodore Stoll and Shane Julson; his brothers, Richard Stoll, Charles Stoll, Jr. and Roger Stoll; his sister-in-law, Belva Stoll; and brother-in-law, Vernon “Pete” Roudebush.
The family extends a special thank you to the Waunakee EMS, Dr. Bill Ranum, Dr. Mathew Herbst, Agrace hospice care representatives and the nursing staff at St. Mary’s Hospital for their compassionate care and support.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 301 South Street, Waunakee, WI on Friday, January 19, 2024. A visitation will be held at the church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of Mass. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery.
