Neal Hellenbrand

Neal Norbert Hellenbrand, 62, passed away on March 18, 2022. He was born in Madison, WI on April 18, 1959, to Victor and Ethel (Gugel) Hellenbrand and grew up in Cross Plains.

On May 26, 1984, he married Debra (“Debby”) Laufenberg and together they raised their two daughters, Ashley and Caitlin, in the home they built together in 1991. He was a long-time employee of Walgreens Distribution Center in Windsor, WI, where he met close friends with whom he enjoyed snowmobiling. Neal liked to hunt, fish, and cheer on the Badgers. He also loved vacationing with his family in northern Wisconsin for many years. When you couldn’t find him at home, you could find him at the land that he owned with his brother, AJ Hellenbrand. He most recently found happiness spending time and playing with his four grandchildren.

He is survived by Debby, his loving wife of 37 years; daughters, Ashley (Tim) Dostalek and Caitlin Hellenbrand (Kyle); grandchildren, Taylor, Easton, Harper, and Carson Dostalek; many brothers and sisters; in-laws and his dog, Autumn.

A celebration of life will be held at the Hawks Nest (next to the Whippoorwill at 7914 Hwy 19 in Dane, WI) on Sunday, April 3 from 1-4pm.
