Neal A. Moebius, of Madison, WI, died Saturday, January 11, 2025 of a sudden illness. He was 62 years old. Neal was born in Racine, Wisconsin to his parents Lee and Joan Moebius.

He graduated from William Horlick High School in Racine, and attended the University of Oshkosh where his emphasis was in Anthropology.

Neal worked as an Archeologist at the Wisconsin Historical Society, a job he truly loved. He had been employed there for over 29 years. Neal was a frequent blood donor.

His career highlight occurred when he unearthed an artifact signifying the discovery of a new archaeological site in Wisconsin. Neal also had the honor in naming the site.

His passions included music, action figures and reading. Neal loved attending audio conventions and concerts, but preferred spending time at home immersing himself in a good book.

Neal was preceded in death by his parents, Lee and Joan. He is survived by his wife of nineteen years, Angela, his brothers, Bruce (Dorothy), James, Robert, Richard (Pamela), his niece, Kristin (Joshua), his nephews Jacob and Aaron, his grand nieces Lilly and Leila and his uncle, Donald (Susan) Marks.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Pine Bluff, WI on Monday, January 27 at 10:00AM., followed by internment services at Roselawn Cemetery in Monona, WI.

Beloved, though your cross was immense, you bore it always with grace, courage, perseverance and hope.
