Waunakee - Nealand L. Rosinsky, age 92, died Monday, Dec. 5, 2011 at Sienna Crest Assisted Living in Marshall. Nealand was born Jan. 26, 1919 in Waupun, the son of Louis and Elizabeth (Wescott) Rosinsky. Nealand grew up in Cornucopia, on the shores of Lake Superior. He served in the Army Air Corps in WWII in the 32nd Fighter Squadron. He married Rose Pellizzi of Washburn, and they enjoyed 68 years together. In 1955, they moved to Madison where Nealand worked for Nagle Hart until he retired in 1981. In recent years Nealand and Rose lived in Waunakee, where they were members of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. Nealand was an active member of the Knights of Columbus. An avid fan of the Packers, Brewers and Badgers, Nealand enjoyed traveling and camping, hunting and fishing. He was a gardener who always assured that no bird or squirrel went unfed. Nealand also assured that he never went without ice cream.
Nealand is survived by his daughter, Rose Hewuse of Deerfield; sons, Neal (Judy) of Rockford, Ill. and Ralph (Mignon) of Temecala, Calif.; grandchildren, Tim (Whitney), Tom (Mary), Tedd (Pam), Sue (Bill), Karen (Kevin) and Allison; great-grandchildren, Meghan, Travis, Courtney, Melissa, Ashli, Sara and Emily; sister-in-law, Marjorie Pellizzi and brother-in-law, Wally Berndt. Nealand was preceded in death by his wife, Rose, his parents, and sister, Marjorie.
Funeral services for Nealand will be held Sat. Dec. 10, 2011 at 12 noon at WINN-CRESS FUNERAL HOME in Waunakee. A visitation will be held prior to the service beginning at 11 a.m. Rev. David Carrano will be presiding. Burial will be at St. Olaf Catholic Cemetery in De Forest. The family would like to thank the staff at Sienna Crest Assisted Living for their loving care and kindness.
