MADISON- Neva P. Brembeck, age 97, passed away Tuesday, December 15, 2009, at her residence.  Neva was born July 27, 1912, in West Frankfort, IL to parents Dallas and Sarah Ada Gloyd.  Neva graduated from the University of Illinois with a Bachelors Degree in English, a Bachelors Degree in Music and a Masters in Music.  She was an accomplished pianist up to her last days.  On June 29, 1940, she married Dr. Winston Brembeck.  Together they moved to Madison, where they lived for the next 64 years.   During WWII, Neva worked for the American Red Cross and later enjoyed her life as a homemaker.  She was a member of United Methodist Church where she was active in various church organizations.  She was the church organist and choir director for many years. Neva was also active in the Arbor Hills Garden Club. She enjoyed cooking and gardening, and entertaining doctorate candidates, who were students of her husband, at their home.  Neva is survived by her niece, Deborra L. (Donald D. Broughton II) Broughton, of Springfield, Illinois.  She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Dr. Winston L. Brembeck in March of 2009, and her brother, Floyd Gloyd.   A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, December 19, 2009, at CRESS FUNERAL HOME, 6021 University Avenue, Middleton, with a visitation starting at 10:00 AM.  Rev. Keith G. Schroerlucke will officiate.   Burial will take place at 1:00 PM on Monday, December 21, 2009, at Tower Heights Cemetery in West Frankfort, Illinois. A special thanks to her live-in caregivers, Oogi and Bogi for their wonderful care.Â
