Fitchburg/Mission, Texas - Niles S. Schley, age 92, passed away on Saturday, July 2, 2011, at his home in Fitchburg. He was born in Pewaukee, Wisconsin on October 22, 1918 the son of Gerhard and Geneva (Schackett) Schley. He was united in marriage on July 4, 1941 in Gilman, Wisconsin to Hazel Runyon. Niles worked as a Master Plumber for the University of Wisconsin for over 25 years. He was a former member of the Madison Scottish Rite Bodies, Masonic Lodge # 151 in Oregon, Wisconsin and the Madison Zor Shrine. Niles farmed in the Fitchburg area for many years before he began spending his winters in Mission, Texas.
Niles is survived by his wife of 70 years, Hazel Schley; two daughters, Judy (James) Atkins and Donna (Ken) Renz; grandchildren, Michael, Laurie, Kelly and Linda; great grandchildren, Garret, Kenna, Tiffany and Hunter; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Robert Schley and a brother, Orre Schley
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
