Nita Currie

Stoughton- Nita Joyce Currie, age 71, passed away on Sunday, April 23, 2023. She was born in Missouri on September 23, 1951, the daughter of Oscar and Rosemary Elliot.

Nita was unintentionally funny. She loved her grandchildren. Nita loved to travel and go on impromptu road trips with her husband Jerry. She loved listening to live music and dance. Nita loved her dogs, JoJo and Ziggy.

She is survived by her husband, Jerry; son Macallan Currie; daughter, Gina (Dennis) Maurer and their daughter Alexandria; son, Sheldon (Kerri) Roark and their children Alyssa, Tyler, Chandler, Kaley, Jaiden and Za'nyla; and son Mike Roark. Nita was preceded in death by her parents; granddaughter, Emma; and sister, Billie.

Memorial services will be held at 11:30 AM on Tuesday, May 2, 2023 at Cress Funeral Home, 206 W. Prospect Street, Stoughton. Friends and relatives are invited to a luncheon, immediately following the services, at the Stoughton American Legion. Friends may greet the family from 10:00 AM until the time of services on Tuesday.
