Stoughton- Norma V. Bothum, age 91, passed away on Wednesday, May 23, 2012 at Agrace Hospice Care in Fitchburg. She was born in Stoughton on February 19, 1921, a daughter of Christ and Gurena (Gullickson) Quam. In 1945, she was united in marriage to Raymond Bothum. Together, they farmed in the Stoughton and Edgerton areas. Norma was a hardworking woman, and a loving mother and grandmother. She loved gardening and crocheting, making and giving many afghans, doilies, baby things, and sweaters for all of her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She is survived by 5 children, Kathy (Dick) Baer, Linda Hanson, Ron (Debbie) Bothum, Mary (Bob) Goggin, and John (Sara) Bothum; 12 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; sister-in-law, Alice Quam; brothers in law, Bob (Irene), Roger, and Donald (Tressa) Bothum; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Raymond in 1999; son-in-law, John Hanson; brothers, Julian, Eldon, Claire, Glen and Odin Quam; and by a sister, Gladys Little.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00pm on Tuesday May 29, 2012 at Christ Lutheran Church, 700 County Hwy., Stoughton with the Rev. Paula Geister-Jones officiating. Burial will follow at Lutheran Cemetery South in Stoughton. The family will greet friends at church on Tuesday from noon until the time of service at 2:00pm. Special thanks to the staff at St. Mary's Hospital and Agrace Hospice for their loving care. Memorials may be made to Christ Lutheran Church, Agrace HospiceCare, or St. Mary's Hospital.
