Deerfield- Norma Jean Kaus, age 68, passed away on Tuesday, November 15, 2011 at St. Mary's Hospital. She was born in Hillsboro on November 17, 1942, the daughter of Ernest and Mary (Fanta) Marshall. On February 14, 1973 Norma Jean married Roger Kaus. Together they moved to Deerfield where Roger started driving truck for Irv Gullickson. Norma Jean began working for Homburg-Olp Construction Company, then Deerfield Village Hall and retired after 20 years of service at Central Ceiling Systems. She enjoyed deer hunting with Roger and her family, gardening, bird and squirrel watching, camping, being outdoors and living life to the fullest. Norma Jean is survived by her husband, Roger; six children, Ken Hubbard, Kathy (Scott) Hubbard Weisman, Kay (Eugene) Hubbard Wagner, Ronald Kaus, Kris Hubbard Blaha and Tammy (Larry) Kaus Nofsinger; 16 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; two brothers, Norman (Delores) and Larry (Linda) Marshall; brother-in-law, Ed Verbsky; mother-in-law, Irene Seibecker; and many relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; and sister, Bessie Verbsky. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, November 19, 2011 at Cress Funeral Home in Deerfield, with Rev. Larry Sexe officiating. Burial will follow at 1:30 PM at Mt. Vernon Cemetery in Hillsboro. Visitation will be held from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM, today, Friday, November 18, 2011 at the funeral home and from 9:00 AM until the time of services Saturday.
