Norma L. Thrun, age 90, died Monday, December 13, 2010 at the Stoughton Hospital after a brief illness. She was born March 17, 1920, in Blooming Grove, the daughter of Theodore and Mabel (Buchanan) Gausmann.  On April 16,1944 she was united in marriage with Alvin Thrun in McFarland and they spent 46 years farming together. Norma was a member of Hope Lutheran Church and Hope Lutheran Church Women Club in McFarland. She enjoyed reading, playing bingo and most of all, being with her family. Survivors include a daughter Nancy (Val) Thomas of Deerfield; a son Thomas (Peggy) Thrun of Sun Prairie; 4 grandchildren: Jonathan (Kristin) Thomas, Jennifer Thomas, Natalie (Marty) Cherwin and Neil Thrun; 2 sisters-in-law: Joyce Gausmann and Joyce Gausmann Watson and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Alvin, a daughter Ruth, her parents and 4 brothers: Kenneth, Earl (Dorothy Gausmann Swenson), Rollin, and Philip (Betty) Gausmann.  Services will be held at 11:00 am Monday, December 20 at HOPE LUTHERAN CHURCH 3702 Cty Hwy AB McFarland with Reverend Chris Lee-Thompson officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 2:00 -- 4:00 pm Sunday, December 19 at the CRESS FUNERAL HOME and again at the church on Monday from 10:00 am until time of service. In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorials to Hope Lutheran Church.  The family sends a special ""thank you"" to Dr. Jeffrey Keil, Deerfield Dean Clinic, Our House Senior Living in Cambridge, Nazareth House in Stoughton, and Stoughton Hospital  for their care and kindness.
