Norma Weiler

April 15, 1942 — November 3, 2019

MADISON-Norma Jean Weiler was born on 4/15/1942 In Manona, Iowa at home on a small family farm. She had many journeys in her life, and on November 3, 2019 departed on her final journey after battling congestive heart failure for over 15 years. Throughout her colorful life Norma accomplished many things. She graduated from Loyal High School in 1959. Afterwards she married Gary C. Weiler, and had two wonderful children, Kristine and Lorin. They divorced in 1967 and Norma never remarried. She decided to go to school, at the University of Whitewater. She received a degree in programming and landed a job at Sentry Insurance in Stevens Point WI. Her and her family then moved to the Stevens Point area where Norma purchased a house in Polonia, and raised her two children there until they graduated from SPASH High School. Education was very important to Norma, so she later she went back to college, where she received a bachelor's degree at the University of Wisconsin - Madison, and a Master's in Chemistry from the University of New Mexico, Norma also had an associate degree in Electronics.

During her time raising her two children, she put her kids first, and ran them around to many sports, some of which were swim team, gymnastics, hockey, and softball, they even managed to go skiing at Rib Mountain numerous times. Even though her life was a struggle, and money was tight, she still managed to take family vacations. One which was a month long throughout most of the western states. She took her two kids, the family dog, packed up a Vega, hooked up a trailer, and away they went. Somehow, she managed to pull this off without a hitch.

She moved back to Madison after a few years working out west. She spent her time in Madison working as an adjunct professor and teacher. She joined the Hoofer's Club because she loved boating and always wanted to learn how to sail. She cycled a lot, even doing a ½ Triathlon. She loved the outdoors, helping foreign exchange students and was always willing to play a game of Sheep's Head!

Norma was a strong Christian, always sharing her love for the Lord. In the 70's she was part of the Jesus People movement. She also went to New York and volunteered to work with David Wilkerson working with high risk youth and gang members. She loved life and will be greatly missed.
