Norman “Norm” Charles Brekken passed away on Sept. 19, 2024 . He was born on June 30, 1953 in Stoughton, Wisconsin. Norm was a lifelong resident of Stoughton, graduating from Stoughton High School in 1971. After growing up on the Brekken family farm, Norm worked for 35 years for the city. The majority of those years he served the community as an electrical lineman for Stoughton Utilities. He began his career with the water utility and at the end of his career retired from his position as Commercial Electrical Inspector and Facilities Maintenance in the city planning department.
Norm’s favorite pastimes were spending time with his grandchildren, vacationing in the Northwoods of Wisconsin, playing euchre, dining at supper clubs, and visiting casinos around the state.
Norm is survived by his wife Pamela, children Ryan (Charity), Renee (Lashawnda), stepsons Jeffrey (Audra), Daniel (Kristin), grandchildren Auden, Ever, Freya, Kion, and Keyontay, grand-dog Taco, as well as other relatives and dear friends.
Norm was preceded in death by his father Elmer, his mother Eileen, and his brother Richard.
Private family services will be held at a later date. Norm will be brought to his final place of rest at Western Koshkonong Cemetery in a private service. In remembrance of Norm, the family asks that any charitable donations be made in his name to the Stoughton Area Resource Team (START) to support local individuals and families in need.
