Oscar A Petry

Madison-Oscar Petry, age 89, died Sunday at HospiceCare Inc. in Fitchburg. The son of Adolph and Anna Petry, he was born on Mar. 19, 1921 in Cambridge. He graduated from West High School in 1939.  Oscar served in the United States Army as an Airplane and Engine Mechanic, after his honorable discharge in 1947 he worked for the Madison Fire Department until his retirement in 1979 and then for the UW Engineer Research until his retirement in 1992. Oscar married the love of his life Frances Dunn in 1951 and was blessed with four children. In his spare time, Oscar was an avid outdoorsman and loved to fish.He is preceded in death by Frances Dunn, and 2 sons, Steve Petry and Stan Petry. He is survived by 2 daughters, Jeanne (Gregg) Jones and Jannice (Roger) Handler; and 2 grandchildren, Cody and Kacy Jones.A Memorial Service will be held Wednesday, December 15 at 3:00 p.m. at Cress Funeral Home with a visitation from 2:00 p.m. until the time of service.
