Patricia K. Baker

Patricia Baker passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 26, 2023 at Brookdale West in Madison, Wisconsin.

Pat grew up on a farm in Iowa County with her parents and sister.  It was there that she learned to love and respect nature, work hard and enjoyed the beauty around her.  She would talk about the trees, birds and squirrels that entertained her outside the window.  She loved sunny bright days and the changing of the seasons.

Patricia married Peter Baker and together they raised three children:  Jane/ Ed, Dan and Mary Ann/Craig.  She took great delight in her grandchildren:Bob/Jackie, Chad/Krista, Amy/Charlie, Shawn/Beth and Angela/Chris.  She was also blessed with seven great grandchildren: Isabelle, Riley, Claire, Jacob, Carter, Brynna and Emrick.  She loved to hear about all their activities and visits were special.

Pat worked for the State of Wisconsin ending her career in the Department of Tourism.   There she met many dear friends and had many wonderful experiences.  She travels to Europe with several of these friends and that was a highlight in her life.  She had so many wonderful people in her life that she was especially fond of including her nieces Annette and Alice, her neighbors Mary and Jerry and Jamie, her special angel, that helped her as she got older.

She loved dogs and any opportunity she had, she would hug or pet her furry friends.  She enjoyed knitting, embroidery, especially making samplers and sewing. Pat was very accomplished in all these.  She loved to read and do crossword puzzles and spent many hours doing what she enjoyed.  Her quiet, patient demeanor and gentle smile will be missed.

A Memorial Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, July 28, 2023 at Queen of Peace Catholic Church, 401 S Owen Dr., Madison  with visitation from 10 a.m. until the time of Mass.
