Patricia Richards

Patricia A. Richards, age 82, passed away on Wednesday, December 7, 2011 at The Homestead. Patricia was born on September 3, 1929 in Vienna Township, the daughter of David and Eva (Clemens) Madigan. Patricia was raised in Dane and graduated from Lodi High School with the class of 1947. She was united in marriage with George Richards who preceded her in death. For 45 years, Patricia was employed at General Casualty Insurance as a claim processor. Patricia had been a Waunakee resident for over 20 years. She was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church where she enjoyed singing in the church choir. Traveling, golfing, bowling and curling were some of her many interests. Patricia is survived by her sisters Mary (Bob) Esser of Madison and Eva Middleton of Waunakee; brother Richard Madigan of TX; her dear friend and companion Dick Faust of Waunakee; sister-in-law Katie (Gene) Smith of Waunakee; brothers-in-law Alvin Richards and John Stevenson both of Dane; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Beside her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brother John; sister Mildred; brother-in-law Harry (Buzz) Middleton; sisters-in-law Shirley Madigan, Dorothy Madigan, Irene Johnson, Laverne Johnson and Dorothy Stevenson. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Monday December Dec.12, 2011, 11:00 am at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 209 South Street Waunakee, Rev David Carrano will officiate. Friends may call at the church on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services. Burial will take place in St Michaels Cemetery in Dane. The family would like to thank Agrace HospiceCare, The Homestead Assisted Living, her dear friend Dick Faust and his family and her high school classmate Jackie Karls who visited often during Patricia's illness.
