Patrick Kennedy

Madison - Patrick J. "Pat" Kennedy, age 80, passed away on Monday, October 31, 2011, at his home in Madison. He was born on September 1, 1931 in Wausau, WI, the son of Joseph and Ruby (Barlow) Kennedy. Pat served in the Army during the Korean War. He worked for the University of Wisconsin Press for 30 years retiring in 1988. He was a member of the US Power Squadron and Boy Scout Troop 11 and participated in many scouting activities. Pat enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, hunting, boating and skiing. He was a kind generous person and always willing to give of his time and himself to help others. Pat loved animals, especially his dogs. He will be greatly missed by family and friends.

He is survived by his companion, Jean Suchomel; a daughter, Shannon (Richard) Breyman; god son, Jason (Brooke) Suchomel; sister, Maureen (Calvin) Thur; nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Patrick was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Janet and infant daughter, Kelly.

A memorial service will be held at CRESS FUNERAL HOME, 3610 Speedway Road, Madison, on Friday, November 4, 2011 at 7:00 p.m. A visitation will be held at the funeral home on Friday from 5:00 p.m. until the time of service.

Pat's family would like to thank Meriter Home Health and Agrace HospiceCare for the care Pat and his family received.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made in Pat's name to the Green County Humane Society, P.O. Box 54 Monroe, WI 53566.
