Patrick Alan Martin

Patrick A. Martin, age 23, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, April 3, 2011 at Columbia St. Mary's Hospital in Milwaukee.
Patrick was the cherished son of Alan and Ellen Martin and dearest brother of Andrew. He is lovingly survived by his paternal grandparents, Delmar and Paz Martin, numerous aunts and uncles, cousins and friends. Patrick was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Robert and Cecilia Risch.
Patrick grew up in the Wexford neighborhood where he made many lasting and wonderful friendships. Friends and family will remember his smile, sense of humor and gentle, fun-loving nature.
Patrick graduated in 2006 from Madison Memorial High School where he was a member of the football team for four years, including an All-City championship his senior year.
Upon graduation he enrolled at Louisiana State University before transferring to the University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee to be closer to family and friends. Patrick was set to graduate in December from UWM with a political science degree and was looking forward to a bright and promising future. Possible endeavors included further post-grad at LSU, culinary school at Paris or entering the political arena. Patrick's dream was to travel the world.
Patrick enjoyed sports, cooking, traveling and spending time with family and friends. His passion for food and cooking led him to his part time job as a sushi chef at Izumi's Japanese Restaurant.
A celebration of Patrick's life will be held on Saturday April 9th at 2 PM at Cress Funeral & Cremation Service, 3610 Speedway Road, Madison, WI 53705 with visitation from 11 AM until the time of service.
The family would like to thank the staff of Columbia St. Mary's Hospital, especially his nurse Carrie, and Dr. Lafferty.
