Paul J. Jacobson

September 16, 1948 — May 20, 2010

Stoughton- Paul J. Jacobson, age 61, passed away on Thursday, May 20, 2010 at the HospiceCare Center in Fitchburg following a courageous two year battle with cancer.   He was born in Stoughton on September 16, 1948, the son of Irvin and Mildred (Kraiger) Jacobson.   Paul graduated from Stoughton High School and Madison Area Technical College.   He served in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Vietnam.   On October 4, 1974 Paul married Marcia Streber.   He was a life long resident of Stoughton and lifetime member of West Koshkonong Lutheran Church.   Paul worked for Capitol Ford for more than 20 years.   He enjoyed working on anything with a motor, family genealogy and spending time with family and friends.   Paul is survived by his wife of 35 years, Marcia; two sons, David of Stoughton and Michael of Madison; granddaughter, Leona; sister, Ruth McIntyre; and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.   Paul was preceded in death by his parents; and infant brother.   Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, May 24, 2010 at West Koshkonong Lutheran Church, 1911 Koshkonong Road, Stoughton, with Rev. Richard Dowling officiating.   A luncheon for family and friends will follow the service.   Burial will take place in Highland Memory Gardens.   Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM on Sunday, May 23, 2010 at Olson-Holzhuter-Cress Funeral Home in Stoughton and from 10:00 AM until the time of service Monday at church.   Memorials may be made to West Koshkonong Lutheran Church, HospiceCare Inc. or to Cancer research.   A special thank you to Larry Skartvedt, Anne, Mark, Ron, Stan, Mark, Mary, Sue, Greg, Irv and Mabel, and to the staff of HospiceCare Inc. and Capitol Ford.
