Pauline E. Rowland, age 92, passed away on Saturday, May 15, 2010 at Nazareth House in Stoughton. Â She was born in Stoughton on March 17, 1918, a daughter of George and Edna (Testal) Barry. Â Pauline underwent groundbreaking open heart surgery as a young woman, and with a new lease on life, she moved to California. Â There, she met and married Sidney Rowland, and worked in medical records at Arroyo Hospital. Â In 1979, after retiring, Pauline and Sid moved to a new home on the lake in Stoughton. Â Pauline loved living by the lake, loved her many dogs and cats, enjoyed traveling, and spending time with her family. Â She especially enjoyed going out every day to eat with her sister Dorothy. Â Pauline passed away just hours after Dorothy did, in the room they shared at Nazareth house. Â She is survived by a sister-in-law, Doris Barry; 4 nephews, Mitchel (Jody), Bruce (Ruth) and John Barry, and Stuart (Sally) Danzinger; and many other relatives and friends. Â She was preceded in death by her husband Sid; 3 brothers, George Robert, Russell, and Charles Barry; and in addition to Dorothy, a sister, Lorraine Danzinger. Â A private interment at Riverside Cemetery will take place at a later date. Â Special thanks to the staff at Nazareth House, McGlynn Pharmacy, the volunteers at Meals on Wheels, Stoughton EMS, Stoughton Cab drivers, and to Sara Sprang with Senior Outreach.
