Pauline E. Rowland

Pauline E. Rowland, age 92, passed away on Saturday, May 15, 2010 at Nazareth House in Stoughton.   She was born in Stoughton on March 17, 1918, a daughter of George and Edna (Testal) Barry.   Pauline underwent groundbreaking open heart surgery as a young woman, and with a new lease on life, she moved to California.   There, she met and married Sidney Rowland, and worked in medical records at Arroyo Hospital.   In 1979, after retiring, Pauline and Sid moved to a new home on the lake in Stoughton.   Pauline loved living by the lake, loved her many dogs and cats, enjoyed traveling, and spending time with her family.   She especially enjoyed going out every day to eat with her sister Dorothy.   Pauline passed away just hours after Dorothy did, in the room they shared at Nazareth house.   She is survived by a sister-in-law, Doris Barry; 4 nephews, Mitchel (Jody), Bruce (Ruth) and John Barry, and Stuart (Sally) Danzinger; and many other relatives and friends.   She was preceded in death by her husband Sid; 3 brothers, George Robert, Russell, and Charles Barry; and in addition to Dorothy, a sister, Lorraine Danzinger.   A private interment at Riverside Cemetery will take place at a later date.   Special thanks to the staff at Nazareth House, McGlynn Pharmacy, the volunteers at Meals on Wheels, Stoughton EMS, Stoughton Cab drivers, and to Sara Sprang with Senior Outreach.
