Peggy Ramos

As in life, Peggy G (DeSelle) Ramos, 80, of Madison was surrounded by her family, as she passed on to eternal life Saturday, March 15th, at Agrace HospiceCare.

Peg was born on October 8, 1933 in Pollock, Louisiana. On March 17th, 1962 she married Sam Ramos and moved to Madison where the DeSelle and Ramos families were united as one.

Peg lived a remarkable life and will forever be remembered as the beautiful matriarch of the Ramos DeSelle family. She adored her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren and it was genuinely reciprocated. Peg gave selflessly to all she knew, and lived her life with integrity, kindness and a love to do for others. She had an infectious laugh, a fighting spirit and a genuineness that made her a friend to all.

Peg found happiness in many things; gambling, dancing, music and spending time with her family and friends (did we mention gambling?). Her family especially appreciated her love for southern-style cooking and enjoyed many great gatherings.

Peg is survived by her husband, Sam Ramos; and her children, Mark DeSelle (Sandy), Tim DeSelle, Mike Ramos, Karen Retelle (Tom), Glenn Ramos, Jim Ramos, Phil Birdsill (Pat) & Jessica Ramos; 15 grandchildren, Dani, Niki, Rene, Adrianne, Chad, Kerry, Eric, Tyler, Corinne, Amanda, Lindsey, Alyssa, Chris, Paige, Talia; and 18 great grandchildren.

Peg was preceded in death by her first husband, Lloyd DeSelle; daughter, Debbie Birdsill; and son, Chris Ramos.

The family extends a special thank you to Sandy (Peg's angel), Sheila, the UW Carbone Cancer Center, and the extraordinary staff at Agrace HospiceCare.

A celebration of her life will be held on Friday, March 21st at Cress Funeral Home, 6021 University Ave, Madison, WI 53705 from 4pm - 7pm. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Ronald McDonald House.
