Margaret Jean “Peggy” Schwarz died on Friday, February 21, 2025, at age 95. She was born in Madison, Wisconsin on July 6, 1929, to Basil and Loretta (Schulgen) McGuine.
Born and raised on the isthmus in Madison, WI, Peggy was a graduate of St. Bernard’s, East High School, and Groves-Barnhart Business School. She was united in marriage to Joseph Schwarz at Our Lady Queen of Peace on June 23, 1956.
Peggy worked as a Secretary for the American Honey Institute, prior to devoting her time to raising her children.
From avidly reading to tap dancing later in life, Peggy embraced life fully and was always looking for new ways to have fun. She enjoyed playing cards, trivia, keeping up with the latest news and spending time with family and friends.
Peggy is survived by her children, Patrick (William Levy) Schwarz of Highland Park, IL, Victoria Heinz of Spring Green, WI, and Tim (Sarah) Schwarz of Hoback, WY; grandchildren, Kaitlin (Dylan) Shaffer, Haley (Dave Cranford) Heinz, Daniel (Donna Ruggiero) Levy, and Rebecca (Bennett Nidenberg) Levy; great-grandchildren, Collins, Campbell and McCoy Shaffer; also, many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and sisters, Patricia (James) Warner, Kathleen (Sherman) Geib, and Rosemary (Philip) Talty.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, March 7, 2025, at Our Lady Queen of Peace, 401 S. Owen Drive, Madison. The family will greet friends from 10:30 a.m. until the time of Mass. A luncheon will follow.
