Philip R. Olson, age 57, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, February 24, 2010 surrounded by his loving family. Â He was born on January 21, 1953, the son of Lawrence and Berneice (Wenger) Olson in Monroe. Â Phil graduated from Brodhead High School in 1971. Â He attended and graduated from MATC in 1973 with an Associate Degree in Architectural Technology, and was employed in Monroe with John Bruni Associates. Â In 1978, Phil moved from Brodhead to Denver, CO at which time he was employed with Mountain, Kasch & Associates, P.C., Engelke Architects, A.I.A., Moore Development Company/Wagner Architecture Group, and MDC Holdings, Inc. - Commercial Division. Â While living in Denver, Phil met his wife Debbie (Harrington) and they were married on June 25, 1983. Â In 1988, Phil accepted a position with Marshall Erdman & Associates in Madison, and was currently employed as a Senior Project Design Manager with Cogdell Spencer ERDMAN. Phil was with ERDMAN for 21+ years and truly loved his work and what he did for a living along with his outstanding, professional, and caring coworkers. Â Phil was a huge Denver Bronco football and John Elway fan with an extensive collection of memorabilia. Â He was even able to attend a few Bronco games in Denver. Â In addition to a love of the Broncos, Phil enjoyed attending sports car racing, specifically Porsche and loved keeping his cars all shinny and new. He loved guitars and could even manage to play a few cords and riffs from the 1970's. Â Phil was also a big Badger football fan and enjoyed attending every home game. Â Phil and his family were also fortunate enough to enjoy numerous family trips to Florida, Mexico, and Colorado. Phil is survived by his loving wife of 26 years Debbie (Harrington) Olson and two beautiful daughters Ashley (23) and Kelly (17) whom he adored and was very proud of. Â Phil and his family have spent the last 21+ years in Waunakee. Along with his wife and two daughters, Phil is survived by his older brother Michael (Jane) and younger brother Jeffrey (Stacey), nieces Caitlyn and Brianne Olson, and Tiffany (Paul) Sierislowski, nephews Brendan and Todd (Kiya) Olson and grand nephew Will Sierislowski and other relatives and friends. Â Phil was preceded in death by his loving parents Larry and Berneice. Phil was a truly kind and loving person to all that knew him and will be missed more than words can say. A Celebration of Phil's Life will be held from 1:00 pm until 4 pm on Saturday, March 6, 2010, at the Winn-Cress Funeral Home, 5785 Highway Q, Waunakee, WI.
