Phillip "Flip" L. Martin

Stoughton – Phillip L. “Flip” Martin, age 66, passed away on Thursday September 21, 2023, at Milestone Senior Living in Stoughton.  He was born July 30, 1957, in South Lyon, Michigan to the late Phillip and Joann (Wilcox) Martin.  Flip married the love of his life Nancy Washko on April 13, 1985.  He is a 1979 graduate of Stephen F. Austin University with a CPA license and worked for Mansur Trucking for 18 years as a controller/CPA.  Flip was a good Dad, Husband and Papa!  He had a contagious laugh and smile, was kind and considerate to all.  Flip (who couldn’t stand on skates) got certified as a hockey coach for his oldest son’s team!  He loved boats. He started building a boat with his youngest son, never finished it. 

Phillip is survived by his wife of 38 years Nancy; 2 amazing sons: Lucas (Raquel) Martin, Andrew Martin; siblings: Shirley (Robert) Llewellyn, Thomas Martin; brother-in-law Greg (Jeanne) Washko, nieces and nephews: Caitlyn (Patrick) Norville, John (Amanda) Washko, Ryan (Heather) Shull, Jenna (Brian) Tritt, Janelle (Logan) Pflibsen, Tim Llewellyn, Amy Llewellyn; and also great nieces and nephews. The precious gems in his life, his granddaughter Kynsley and grandson Dallas; along with his 2 dogs Gus and Tammy.

Flip is preceded in death by his parents.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday September 28, 2023, at CRESS FUNERAL HOME, 206 W. Prospect St. Stoughton.  Visitation will be from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM on Wednesday September 27, 2023, at Cress Funeral Home and also from 10:00 AM until the funeral on Thursday September 28, 2023 at the Cress Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made to the Dementia Society of America, or the Dane County Humane Society.
