Phyllis Miller

Phyllis A. Miller, age 93, passed away on November 30, 2023, at Four Winds Manor.  She was born on September 17, 1930 in Menomonie to Louis and Jane (Styer) Knopps.  She grew up in Menomonie and graduated from Menomonie High School in 1948.  Phyllis married Clarence Miller on June 6, 1953, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Menomonie. 

Clarence & Phyllis founded and owned Heating & Cooling, Inc. of Madison, a mechanical contracting business since 1953.  She enjoyed trips to Las Vegas, playing bingo, and spending the winter months in Florida. 

Phyllis is survived by her four children, Linda (Richard) Miller of Belleville, Gary (Cherie) Miller of Oregon, Joan Welles (Jeff Mulhern) of Wausau and Jerry (Melody) Miller of Verona.  She is further survived by six grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, one great, great grandchild, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence, her parents, sisters and their husbands. 

A Memorial Mass will be held on December 9, 2023 at 12:00 noon at St. James Catholic Church, 1128 St. James Court, Madison.  Friends may call from 11:00 a.m. until the time of services at church. There will be a luncheon to follow, and all guests are welcome to stay and share memories of Phyllis.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Agrace Hospice. 

Phyllis’s family would like to thank the staff at Four Winds Harborside for the wonderful care given to Mom.  We would also like to thank Brittany Hudziak and Beth Roman from Agrace Hospice Care for their exceptional care, emotional support and compassion shown to us and Mom.
